Simple knowledge leads to better decisions. We're here to empower Northeast Ohio homeowners with the facts.

    Ideal Temperature for
    Roof Installation

    Optimal Range

    45°F – 85°F

Understanding temperature requirements is critical for proper shingle adhesion and long-lasting results. Asphalt shingles require adequate temperature for the self-sealing strip to activate properly through solar heat.

Below 40°F, shingles become brittle and can crack during installation. Conversely, above 90°F, the asphalt can become too soft, making it vulnerable to scuffing or damage from installers' footwear.

    Cold Weather Warning

Installing below 40°F requires hand-sealing each shingle individually with asphalt cement. While possible, it significantly increases labor and risk—always consult a professional before winter roofing.

    What About Fall & Spring?

These are actually the ideal roofing seasons in Northeast Ohio. The combination of mild temperatures, lower humidity, and stable conditions creates the perfect environment for a flawless installation.

    Why Regular Roof Inspections Matter

Catching small issues before they become expensive problems is the key to maximizing your roof's lifespan.

Your roof is under constant assault from Ohio's weather. From brutal lake-effect snow to intense UV radiation and high-speed winds, even the best roofing systems experience wear and tear.

A professional inspection provides critical documentation for insurance claims and supports our honest claim assistance process, maintains your manufacturer warranty status, and offers peace of mind that your home remains protected.

Kronika Tip"We recommend inspecting your roof at least twice a year—once in spring after winter, and once in fall before snow season. Our inspections are always FREE."

    The Importance of Solid Sheathing

The foundation of your roof starts with what you can't see. Explore why decking matters.

    What is Sheathing?

Roof sheathing (also called decking) is the layer of boards or plywood panels attached to your roof rafters that the shingles are nailed into. Solid sheathing is the gold standard for residential roofing.

Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles and frequent storms put significant stress on roofing systems. Solid sheathing provides a uniform nailing surface, better load distribution, and superior moisture protection.
